Access to the Surgery during the Coronavirus

DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID OR HAVE RETURNED HOME FROM A COUNTRY THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO ISOLATE FOR 2 WEEKS.

WE HAVE NOT CLOSED EVEN THOUGH THE DOORS ARE LOCKED

Appointments:If you need to see or speak to a Clinician please ring the surgery on 01747 840226.  The receptionist will book you in for a telephone triage appointment.  One of the GP’s will ring you back and if necessary arrange for you to be seen.  If possible the matter will be dealt with over the phone.

The main symptoms of Covid19 are: Fever, Sore Throat, Cough and/or breathing difficulties.  We would ask that if you, or a member of your household, have symptoms of the Coronavirus, or have been in contact with someone who does, that you inform the receptionist and you do not enter the surgery.

Attending an appointment, collecting medication and/or paperwork: Follow the arrows on the main doors and go around to the back of the building, to the staff entrance.  During opening hours, a window will be open and keeping 2 metres from other patients waiting in the car park, you can call through the window to a receptionist.  We can bring your medication to you.  If you are attending an appointment you are required to wear a face mask/covering and you will be advised how and where to enter the building.  If the weather is inclement you can wait in your vehicle, once you have let the receptionist know you have arrived and the clinician will fetch you. We can supply you with a face mask if you are attending an appointment at the Surgery. You will have your temperature taken before you enter.  All clinicians will see patients wearing full PPE.  Once a patient has left the premises all areas they have entered are deep cleaned even if they have no symptoms and are not suspected to have Covid19.  Remember you can have Covid19 for 14 days before having any symptoms.

We would ask that you only book appointments with a Practice Nurse if they need to be done now, or you are invited to attend by the surgery, non-urgent appointments should be booked when the Global pandemic has eased.  Some Practice Nurse appointments can be done over the phone and we can arrange this.

We are attempting to keep the footfall through the surgery to a minimum for the safety of patients and staff.  If it is not necessary for you to attend the surgery please do not.

Delivering Medication:

If you are not able to collect your medication and have no one you can ask to help, we can arrange for The Link Scheme to deliver your medication.  The Link Scheme volunteers deliver for our patients on a Friday only, excluding bank holidays.  You would need to order your medication by Tuesday morning in order for it to be delivered on the Friday of the same week.  You need to be at home to accept delivery. There will be no Link delivery in the week commencing 21.12.2020.

You can also access the NHS Volunteer scheme via: 0808 196 3646. Please note, this is only for individuals who meet specific criteria or who are considered medically vulnerable for another reason.
